Wolves loanee Burgoyne suffers devastating ankle break at Plymouth Argyle

On loan Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne has suffered a devastating start to his temporary stay at Sky Bet League One club Plymouth Argyle with the player having broken his ankle during a training session on Tuesday according to the Plymouth Herald.

The 21-year-old Ludlow-born stopper only joined The Pilgrims last month on a loan deal for the entire 2018/2019 campaign but looks set for a spell on the sidelines.

Argyle are currently in The Netherlands as they continue to prepare for the start of the new season and it has been revealed that young keeper Burgoyne has suffered a huge blow by breaking his ankle during Tuesday’s training session.

The player is thought to have flown back to the UK for treatment but the short term prognosis is not looking good with Burgoyne set to be ruled out of action until at least early October.

The youngster has been on the books at parent club Wolves since he was just 12 years of age. Burgoyne has made eight first team appearances for the Molineux-based club, seven of which have come in the Sky Bet Championship.

Wolves have opted to loan the player out on several occasions in recent seasons with Burgoyne featuring for Lowestoft Town, Corby Town, AFC Telford United and Barnet prior to his latest move to Plymouth Argyle.
