West Brom have bid rejected for Luton Town full-back

West Brom have had a bid rejected by Luton Town for right-back Jack Stacey, according to the Daily Mail.

The Baggies are hoping to add some more faces to their squad ahead of the upcoming Championship campaign but will have to try again for Stacey after seeing their first bid rebuffed by the Hatters.

West Brom’s manager, Darren Moore, has so far signed Sam Johnstone from Manchester United, Jonathan Bond on a free transfer, Kyle Bartley from Swansea City and Harvey Barnes on loan from Leicester City.

Jack Stacey is a new name to be linked with a move to the Hawthorns. The 22-year-old joined Luton Town last summer and was a key player for them in their promotion from League Two. Stacey played 45 games for Nathan Jones’ side in all competitions.

Stacey, who can play as either a right-back or right-winger, is being tipped for a big future at Luton. He started his career at Reading, of whom he joined at the age of 8.

He rose through the youth ranks at the Madejski Stadium and went onto play 6 games for their first-team. He also enjoyed loan spells at Barnet, Carlisle United and Exeter City before moving away from the Royals on a permanent basis last year.

Luton may find it tough to hold onto Jack Stacey this summer with West Brom showing an interest. The Baggies could come back in with an offer as they need some more defensive options and Stacey would be a good long-term signing for them.
