Former Ipswich Town, Nottingham Forest and Coventry striker is looking likely to sign for Sheffield United

Sheffield United are looking likely to sign experienced striker David McGoldrick, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Sheffield United seem to be likely to sign former Ipswich Town, Nottingham Forest and Coventry striker David McGoldrick.

According to Alan Nixon, David McGoldrick to Sheffield United is looking likely to happen and could be a good signing from Chris Wilder.

David McGoldrick has been on trial with Sheffield United and this is what Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder said: “I thought David showed his class out there again,” before complaining too many of McGoldrick’s team mates did anything but. “There’s never been any doubts about his ability. The thing is, as I’ve made clear all along, we’re not a club that can just throw money at it. We’ve got to make sure everything fits into place and that we stick to our budget.”

It seems Sheffield United have a few strikers on their radar, with David Nugent being linked with Sheffield United from Derby County. The former England international joined the Rams from Middlesbrough in January 2017 for a reported fee of £2.5m. He has scored 15 goals in 54 league appearances for Derby County, and has 12 months left to run on his contract at Pride Park.

According to The Sun, Sheffield United have been priced out of a move for Martyn Waghorn, following Ipswich Town putting a £10million price tag on the striker. The 28-year-old netted 16 goals and picked up 11 assists in his debut season at Portman Road and this impressive season has attracted interest from Chris Wilder.
