Sheffield Wednesday confirm that new kit shortage is over

Fans of Sky Bet Championship club Sheffield Wednesday will get the opportunity to purchase a new 2018/2019 home shirt before the start of the season.

The home kit was expected to go on sale from the club’s megastore three weeks ago but a last minute hitch left many Owls fans empty handed as the club were provided with just ladies and infants shirts to sell along with a £99 official player replica jersey.

Last season’s home kit was unavailable to purchase until September and there has been some concerns of a similar manufacturing delay amongst the supporters of The Owls this summer.

Official Sheffield Wednesday club sources have now confirmed that the club have been supplied with all sizes of the kit and fans can purchase the new home kit with immediate effect both from the megastore and online.

The home kit is manufactured by Elev8 and sees the return of the club’s traditional blue and white stripes. The shirt has a solid blue back while The Owls will wear black shorts on home soil along with blue socks with a black trim.

The home shirt is priced from £35 to £59 with the more expensive £99 shirts produced for those fans wanting to experience the same look as their Hillsborough heroes.
Sheffield Wednesday will hope to improve on their 15th place finish in the Sky Bet Championship last season. The club were 18 points off the play-off positions despite being one of the early favourites for promotion.
