Darragh MacAnthony is one of the more popular chairman around these days, a man who is active on social media, honest and willing to talk to fans. Below is an interview in which he speaks openly about transfer business and the club and it’s refreshing, some Championship may well be interested in what they have to say.

The fact MacAnthony has named Derby County as a club who have made three bids that have been rejected is such an open thing to say. Derby have already made some good signings including Harry Wilson from Liverpool and Florian Jozefzoon from Brentford yesterday.
The Jack Marriott situation is heating up and MacAnthony’s comments regarding other clubs getting involved, in particular the comment about a club who keep getting beat will be interesting for fans, certainly of Leeds United. Leeds are having no luck in the window, two loans from Chelsea and not a penny spent with ten players out the door, they are certainly a club that fit the bill.
Leeds have been heavily linked with a move for Marriott, as have Bristol City, Middlesbrough, Reading and MacAnthony has also mentioned a newly relegated club that want him but need to move players on first. That probably isn’t Stoke City given their squad and money but could be West Bromwich Albion.
The Posh chairman expects other clubs to go in for Marriott and also expects Derby to go back in but that could also be news to Leeds fans because without selling a player, Derby can’t spend much money. Matej Vydra would need to drop his wage demands significantly for Leeds to move again.
