Derby County could make more signings this summer

Derby County head coach Frank Lampard has told the Derby Telegraph that they could still make more signings this summer.

So far this summer, Derby have made three signings. There has been two loan deals with Harry Wilson and Mason Mount moving on temporary deals from Liverpool and Chelsea respectively while they were able to beat Leeds United to the signing of Florian Jozefzoon from Brentford. But even when given plenty, fans always want more and the question is if Derby will sign anyone else this summer.

Head coach Lampard was asked this question and he tried to be as coy as possible about any potential moves. He said that there were no glaring problems in his squad that he had to address but that he isn’t stopping looking for new players and if the right man comes up for the right price, the Rams may still sign someone else this summer.

He said: “I am evaluating all of the time. There isn’t glaring positions in the team I need to work on.”

“We have quite a big squad now, so we have to look at it as a whole.”

“We will see in the next two weeks until the transfer window shuts, and then afterwards before the loan window closes, what moves we will make as a club going forward.”

“We would still like to keep improving until the last moment to compete as well as we can compete. So there may be more business for us to do.”
