Hull City have bid rejected for Brighton & Hove Albion’s Oliver Norwood

Hull City have had a bid rejected by Brighton and Hove Albion for Oliver Norwood, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke on Twitter.

The Tigers are looking to further bolster their squad ahead of next season and have targeted a move for the Northern Ireland international. However, they have seen their first bid rebuffed for him.

Oliver Norwood spent last season on loan at Fulham in the Championship and played 41 games for them in all competitions. He could potentially leave Premier League side Brighton again this summer.

The 27-year-old started his career at Manchester United and had loan spells at Carlisle United, Scunthorpe United and Coventry City in his early career. He left United on a permanent deal in 2012 to join Huddersfield Town, where he spent two seasons at.

Reading snapped him up in 2014 and he spent another two years in the Championship with the Royals before switching to Brighton in 2016. Norwood helped the Seagulls gain promotion to the top flight in his first season at the club.

Norwood has bags of experience in the Championship and has been promoted twice in the past two seasons. He would be a great signing for the Tigers but they will have to fork out more money if they are to lure him to the KCOM Stadium this summer.

Hull have been busy so far in this transfer window and are obviously now in the hunt for a new central midfielder. Norwood fits the bill perfectly but they have seen their first bid turned down for him.
