There’s been a massive spike in quality in the Championship this season with so many big clubs being relegated. Any club who’s serious about a promotion challenge need to bring some players in from the Premier League to help them get there. Here’s two players all top Championship clubs need
Rajiv van La Parra
Van La Parra is a winger who plays for West Yorkshire club, Huddersfield Town. The quick footed winger has contributed to Huddersfield Town’s survival last season as well as their shock promotion the season before. At times this season, he’s seemed miles out of his depth in the Premier League and his level does appear to be in the English second tier. In 33 appearances last campaign he didn’t get any assists and only scored three goals. But his Championship record and his general contribution in Championship games is good, especially for a wide midfielder. In 108 appearances in the Championship, he’s got 16 assists and scored five goals.
Sam Vokes
Sam Vokes is a 28-year-old striker who plays for Premier League Burnley. Ever since Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes found their form in front of goal Vokes has been stuck on the subs bench. Vokes is definitely a top Championship striker who should be given starts week in week out. Sam Vokes has 52 goals and 12 assists in 198 Championship appearances. Most of these goals (35) came in both of Burnley’s 2013/14 and 2015/16 promotion seasons.
The Welshman has been linked with Championship Middlesbrough and it would be a massive statement of intent should they get him into the club. Having such a proven goal scorer within your club will help you out massively and send Middlesbrough well on their way to a promotion challenge
