Rangers set to steal Liverpools’ Ryan Kent from Blackburn Rovers

Scottish giants Rangers are set to attempted a last ditch swoop for Liverpool winger and major Blackburn Rovers target, Ryan Kent. This is according to a report by The Sun.

Steven Gerrard of Rangers has very strong links to Liverpool and has persuaded Liverpool to allow Rangers to take the youngster on loan instead of Blackburn, who have been pushing to get a deal done.

Ryan Kent had two loan spells away from Liverpool last season. One at German side SC Freiburg and one at English side Bristol City. While at Bundesliga side SC Freiburg he made just six appearances and while at Bristol City he made just ten appearances.

Despite his poor showing at SC Freiburg and Bristol City last season, Kent spoke highly of his time at the two clubs, saying, “In terms of game time I think I only started eight games last season, but I think it was a learning experience to be able to go to probably the second-best league in Europe in the Bundesliga, and making my debut against Bayern Munich. Then to be involved in a play-offs chance with Bristol City was a good opportunity as well, so I took many things away from last season and hopefully I can build on that again.

Liverpool have started to enforce big fines on clubs who take their players on loan and don’t given them a fair chance. Bristol City have been slapped with a fine of £500,000 for not giving Ryan Kent a fair chance during his spell at Ashton Gate last season.

Steven Gerrard has told Liverpool that Ryan Kent would be guaranteed a fair amount of minutes on the pitch should he join the Glasgow based club.
