The latest on Hull City & Leeds United’s pursuit of Turkish Super Lig striker

Hull City and Leeds United have both held talks with Kasimpasa striker Mbaye Diagne, according to Turkish-Football.com.

The 26-year-old has also been linked with Championship side Reading as well as Premier League outfit AFC Bournemouth, but it appears Hull and Leeds are the two front runners in the race for him.

Rumours of Diagne to the Tigers were fuelled by him following their official club account on Instagram, putting on a Hull-themed Instagram story and liking a photo of a Jay-Jay Okocha Hull City shirt. However, despite there being sources suggesting he was close to a switch to the KCOM Stadium, BBC Radio Humberside Sport  journalist Matt Dean said on Twitter there was no truth in the rumours.

Nevertheless, there must be something in the rumours otherwise why would Diagne make all the hints on his social media? It could be the case that Hull are trying to keep this one on the down low.

Leeds United, on the other hand, have been linked with him as well. Their manager, Marcelo Bielsa, is keen to bring in a striker but it appears most of their intentions at the moment is to get a deal done for Brentford’s Florian Josefzoon.

Mbaye Diagne played for Kasimpasa in a friendly last night and is still in Turkey but this does not mean he can’t be talking to other clubs though, with his representatives likely to be working in the background to any potential move done. The Turksih Super Lig side have been linked with striker Emmanuel Emineke in recent days, meaning they could have a replacement lined up if Diagne does leave.

More developments to this transfer story could occur over the next few days so Hull and Leeds fans should keep their eyes peeled.
