Mowbray confirms Blackburn duo are attracting interest

Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph, Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray has revealed that there has been interest from other clubs for Sam Hart and Ben Gladwin. The duo did not feature in Rovers’ most recent pre-season friendly, with Mowbray then revealing that they had also been carrying knocks.

It is understood that Hart, who is yet to make a single league start for Blackburn since joining, is wanted by a club in Sky Bet League One. In the case of Gladwin, who previously played for Queens Park Rangers, may yet move to an unnamed club in Sky Bet League Two.

Speaking after their 1-1 draw at Port Vale, Mowbray said that the duo are wanted elsewhere,

“Two of them are injured and there is interest from elsewhere as well.

“They were unavailable otherwise they would have been here. Sam Hart has got a slight thigh strain, Ben Gladwin has an issue with his knee and (Paul) Caddis is unavailable for fitness reasons really.”

They did not feature in the friendly against Scottish side Hibernian as well.

Since joining from Liverpool, 21-year-old Hart has only made a handful of appearances for the club. He spent time on loan at Rochdale in the second half of last season. It remains to be seen if Dale are indeed the club hoping to sign him again.

Gladwin has found it difficult to make a name for himself at Ewood Park. He only made five substitute appearances in their league campaign last season. However, a serious injury did play a big part in that being the case. He is now on the recover and perhaps a loan move would suit him again.
