Wilder happy for striker to leave Sheffield United

Speaking to the Sheffield Star, Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has revealed that Ched Evans is set to leave the club on loan. He also stated that such a move will suit Sheffield United, Ched Evans and the club he will join, which is believed to be Sky Bet League One side Fleetwood Town.

Evans is currently in his second spell at Bramall Lane having rejoined last year. Since then, he has only started two league matches and has failed to score. Having appeared 13 times last season, Evans is looking to rediscover his goalscoring habit once more. Fleetwood are the side likely to benefit from this.

Wilder is currently is discussions to try and add some players of Premier League quality into his roster before they get their Sky Bet Championship campaign under way in a few weeks time. However, he says now is the right time for Evans to move on,

“We’ve set up a loan move for Ched (Evans). We’ve looked closely at his situation, and we think it’ll be beneficial for us and Ched that he goes out and plays some games. He could play 20-odd games up until Christmas, gets in a rhythm and then we’ll re-assess it. It’s common knowledge that we’re looking to improve and bring players in that are ready to do the business in the Championship at the top of the pitch.”

The likes of David McGoldrick, who is now a free agent having departed Ipswich Town, Aston Villa’s Scott Hogan, Sam Gallagher from Southampton and Sheffield Wednesday forward Sam Winnall have all been rumoured targets for the Blades.
