Carlisle United want FIVE new signings – Ex-Leeds and Manchester United men continue

Carlisle United boss John Sheridan wants five new faces to add to the squad before the summer deadline is up in just over three weeks time. The Ex-Leeds United player has a serious knack of doing well at clubs such as Carlisle United, Oldham and Fleetwood fans will vouch for that.

Sheridan currently has three trialists at the club. Leeds United academy graduate Lewis Walters is the most high-profile, a player who was on the brink of the Leeds squad but never really made the grade before moving to Nottingham Forest. A talented and tricky winger who could do some serious damage if he has the confidence and some time to shine in a first-team environment. He’s a classic John Sheridan signing.

Charlie Scott is also trying to earn a deal with the club. The defensive midfielder can play a variety of positions and certainly has the potential to cut it in the Football League. He spent some time north of the border last season before being released by Manchester United, he’s a player who came through the academy with the likes of Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard, two players who have starred at the World Cup this summer.

Carlisle are light on players but Sheridan isn’t one to panic about these situations, if he was left with this squad he’s the sort of coach who would just get on with it and utilise the players at his disposal as well as the young players who aren’t maybe in the plans at the moment.

Five deals would be wonderful whether he’s counting the players on trial as potentially those numbers we don’t know but Carlisle have the best chance of promotion they have for some time, this is a perfect job for Sheridan.
