Moore, West Brom start talks with Sheffield United goalkeeper

West Brom start talks with Sheffield United goalkeeper

West Bromwich Albion are in talks to sign Sheffield United’s Simon Moore according to a report from the Birmingham Mail.

Despite already signing one goalkeeper this summer, West Brom are looking to sign another shot stopper. Earlier in the transfer window, the Baggies were able to wrap up a deal to sign Sam Johnstone from Manchester United and it is likely that he will be their number one going into this season. But with Ben Foster leaving for Watford and Boaz Myhill being released, West Brom want to get another goalkeeper as a back-up.

And West Brom have found their man as they are trying to complete a deal to sign Moore. He has been Sheffield United’s main goalkeeper for a while now but with the Blades signing Dean Henderson on loan from Manchester United, he is likely to be spending much of the season on the bench at Bramall Lane. United are willing to sell Moore because of this and West Brom believe he has the talent to step in should Johnstone ever get injured or suspended.

And now West Brom are in talks to sign Moore and this deal could soon be wrapped up. While Moore would just be swapping one bench for another, it is likely that he will get paid far more to sit on the bench in the West Midlands than he would be in South Yorkshire. And even as a back-up, this move will give him a better shot of making it into the Premier League.
