Sheffield United set to lose two goalkeepers next week

Sheffield United are set to lose two goalkeepers next week, with George Long and Simon Moore expected to leave the club.

Long is in talks with Hull City over a move to the KCOM Stadium to re-unite with his former Sheffield United manager Nigel Adkins, according to Hull Live.

Whereas Simon Moore is in talks with over a switch to Championship new boys West Bromwich Albion, as reported by The72 earlier today.  The Baggies are in the hunt for some competition to their new signing, Sam Johnstone.

With both of these expected to be leaving Bramall Lane, this would leave the Blades with two goalkeepers in their squad. One being their new signing, Dean Henderson, who joined the club on a season-long loan from Premier League giants Manchester United last month. The second being youngster Jake Eastwood, who spent time on loan at Chesterfield last season.

George Long started his career with Sheffield United and has played over 100 games for his home-town club. However, after spending last season on loan in League One with AFC Wimbledon, he is ready for the next chapter of his career and it looks to be with the Blades’ Championship rivals Hull City.

Simon Moore, on the other hand, got plenty of game time for Chris Wilder’s side in the last campaign as he and Chelsea loanee Jamal Blackman fought for the number one spot. However, he is obviously attracted to a move to West Brom, who want to gain an immediate return to the Premier League.
