Why Barnsley’s Tom Bradshaw would be ideal for Hull City

Barnsley striker Tom Bradshaw has been linked with a move to Championship side Hull City, as reported by The72 yesterday.

The Wales international could leave Oakwell this summer following Barnsley’s relegation to League One last season. He has been the subject of interest from Millwall, but here is why he would be ideal for Hull City instead-

Fits their transfer policy

Hull City have opted to sign young and hungry players this summer and Bradshaw fits the bill. Their manager, Nigel Adkins, has stressed his desire to build a young team who can develop as a team and individuals. Hull suffered a lot of departures early in the transfer window but have been busy recently as they look to build a new identity. The players who they have recently signed, David Milinkovic from Genoa, Reece Burke from West Ham United and Jordy de Wijs from PSV, are all under the age of 25-years-old and have points to prove. Bradshaw, who is 25, also wants to prove his worth as a Championship striker.

Space for a striker

The Tigers are targeting a new forward following the departure of Abel Hernandez. Bradshaw managed a combined 20 goals in his past two seasons in the Championship and could thrive for Hull. He managed that goal tally for Barnsley and with better service around him with international players like Kamil Grosicki, Markus Henriksen and Jackson Irvine, he could be prolific.

Hull is a good stepping stone

Players like Harry Maguire and Andy Robertson have used Hull City as a place to progress as footballers and then make the step up. Maguire, joined the Tigers from Sheffield United in 2014 before moving onto Leicester City last summer and is now a national treasure after impressing at the World Cup for England. Robertson, on the other hand, moved to Hull from Dundee United as well in 2014, joined Liverpool last summer and then helped them get to the Champions League final last season.
