According to The Sun, Stoke City want Liverpool’s Sheyi Ojo as part of the transfer that will see Xherdan Shaqiri move to Anfield.
Ojo spent last season on loan at Fulham, helping them achieve promotion back to the Premier League, although his playing time was limited to a part-time role.
Ojo has shown that he has bags of potential, which is why he is proving to be a hot commodity once again in the transfer window, and Stoke City are to use him as a bargaining chip for Shaqiri’s £13m move away from the Potters.
Shaqiri has had a frustrating career at Stoke, having looked unsettled for the majority of his career at the bet365 stadium. The Swiss ace has had glimpses of brilliance, but has often failed to bring the required firepower when it mattered the most.
A star at the FIFA World Cup once again for Switzerland, it begs the question, why can’t he transfer that form to the Premier League? He has the right attitude, a player who seemingly knows his qualities, but is yet to find that one move in his career that cements his legacy.
A wunderkind at Bayern Munich, destined for greatness at Inter Milan and then an under-achiever at Stoke City, could Jurgen Klopp’s attacking dynamic be the key to unlocking Shaqiri’s potential?
As for Sheyi Ojo, his status as a hot prospect is against the clock, at 21, now is his time to prove his ability and promotion hopeful’s Stoke City could be the answer.
