There are some very talented players that are currently free agents, many of which would massively improve most Championship squads. A stand out player is former Crystal Palace winger, Bakary Sako.

Bakary Sako is French born 30-year-old left winger who has most recently played for Premier League club Crystal Palace. Sako is currently out injured with a broken ankle which he suffered in a 1-1 draw against West Ham United at the London Stadium. He is expected to return from injury next month so he wouldn’t be out of action for much longer should a club come in to try sign him.

Although he’s spent a lot of his career in the Premier League, Sako has also played 78 times in the Championship. During those appearances he’s managed a very respectable 24 goals and 21 assists. This works out as a goal contribution every 1.73 matches. This is a remarkable record given he is only a winger and far from an out and out striker.

In 364 professional appearances, Sako has only been sent off once which came in a game during a long spell at Wolverhampton. He’s also only picked up 21 yellow cards during that time which works out at one yellow card every 17.3 games.

Bakary Sako is an extremely talented player, especially in the Championship and if any club could get their hands on this man then it would be one of the deals of the whole transfer window. Keep your eye out for Sako next season, at just 30 years old, he’s certainly not finished yet.
