Sheffield United are interested in loaning Liverpool winger Ben Woodburn, as per a report by the Sheffield Star.
The Blades are said to be exploring various attacking options including Southampton’s Sam Gallagher, Aston Villa’s Scott Hogan and Leeds United’s Kemar Roofe.
Liverpool winger Ben Woodburn is the latest name to be linked with a move to the Championship side. The highly-rated youngster could leave the Reds on loan this summer to gain some regular first-team experience next season.
Sheffield United is an option for the 18-year-old. The Yorkshire side are looking to bolster their squad over the coming weeks as their manager, Chris Wilder, looks to have his side competing in the top half of the Championship again next season.
Woodburn has played 11 games for Liverpool so far in his career and is being tipped for a big future at the Anfield club. He has also made 7 caps for the Wales national team and now wants to gain a taste of regular first-team action in the second tier.
He joined Liverpool at the age of six and rose through the youth ranks there. Woodburn, who has also represented Wales at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-19 levels, made his debut for Liverpool in November 2016 in the Premier League against Sunderland.
Sheffield United would be a great place for Woodburn to go and get a taste of playing regular football at a decent level. Chris Wilder is a top manager in the Championship and knows how to look after and get the best out of young players.
