Blackburn Rovers boss Tony Mowbray is looking to bolster his squad over the coming weeks in preparation for next season. Here are four players he has his eye on, according to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon–
Alex Armstrong, Newcastle United- The 21-year-old spent last season on loan with Rovers in League One and helped them get promoted to the Championship. He scored 9 goals in 21 games for Tony Mowbray’s side. They are now keen to bring him back to Ewood Park on loan for the next campaign to help bolster their attacking options.
Harry Chapman, Middlesbrough- Like Armstrong, Chapman spent last season on loan at Blackburn in the third tier. They are now eager to sign him on a permanent basis as Mowbray looks to add more depth into his midfield. Chapman also has spent time away from Middlesbrough on loan at Barnsley and Sheffield United.
Patrick Bauer, Charlton Athletic- The German defender impressed for the Addicks in League One in the last campaign and could earn himself a move to the Championship this summer. Bauer, who has previously played for Stuttgart and Maritimo, has been a long-term target for Blackburn and is a deal that they are keen to get done.
Ellis Harrison, Bristol Rovers- The 24-year-old striker has spent his career so far solely at Bristol Rovers but could move for the first time this summer with Rovers showing an interest in signing him. Harrison has played over 150 games for the Pirates and is also a Wales Under-21 international.
