The Daily Mail have reported that newly promoted Leicester City have made a £6.5m bid to land Watford striker Troy Deeney.

The Hornets forward has scored 45 league goals in his last two seasons with the club, and Leicester are willing to gamble on the 26-year-old in the hope he can deliver goals in the Premier League.

Deeney has already been strongly linked other Premier League sides this summer, most notably Burnley.

Deeney would not be the first Championship striker to join Leicester this summer, as Leonardo Ulloa signed from Brighton for £7m last week.
