Leeds United’s summer has been a rollercoaster so far, and there is still a month to go.
It has gone from the jubilation of appointing a manager as well-known as Marcelo Bielsa, to pure frustration at the lack of transfer activity.
Leeds United already appear to have missed out on several different targets, with Abel Hernandez closing in on a move to Russia, and talks with Matej Vydra collapsing due to his wage demands being too high.
But things could get a whole lot worse for Leeds United in the coming days, as West Brom look to complete three deals that will break the hearts of the Elland Road faithful.
First of all, the Baggies are closing in on a deal to sign Swansea City defender Kyle Bartley. The former Arsenal and Rangers centre-half spent a season on loan at Leeds under Garry Monk, and had been linked with a permanent move back to Elland Road. However, it appears the Whites will miss out on that deal.
To make matters worse, the Baggies are also monitoring Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson. Jansson and Bartley is a partnership that many Leeds United fans have dreamed of for the 2018/19 season, but could it be a partnership that they have to face?
To complete the triple heartbreak, West Bromwich Albion have also shown an interest in Leeds United’s versatile forward Kemar Roofe. The former Oxford United man was the Whites top scorer last season, and his departure would not be met very well by Leeds fans.
