West Brom join Leeds United, Stoke City and Derby County in race for Liverpool winger

West Bromwich Albion have joined several Sky Bet Championship clubs in the race to sign young Liverpool winger Harry Wilson.

Paul Joyce of the times tweeted this earlier, confirming serious interest from a number of second tier clubs:

Harry Wilson has been on the books at Premier League side Liverpool since joining their youth set-up in 2005, and he is said to be highly thought of by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

That is emphasised by the fact that he is set to sign a new contract at Anfield in the coming days, before agreeing a loan deal with a Sky Bet Championship club.

Leeds United, Stoke City and Derby County had been among the believed front runners to secure his signature, but this latest interest from West Brom may throw a spanner in the works.

The reason that Harry Wilson is in such high demand is because he showed everyone what he is capable of in the Sky Bet Championship during a loan spell at Hull City last season.

Wilson joined the Tigers back in January, and made 13 league appearances for the Sky Bet Championship club. His goal return was impressive, scoring seven goals and assisting one.

The 21-year-old was born in Wrexham and has represented Wales at both youth level and senior level. Back in 2013, he become his country’s youngest ever player when he made his debut at the age of 16 years and 207 days against Belgium.

No-one knows quite where Wilson will end up, but what we do know is that we can expect to see him firing in some goals in the Sky Bet Championship very soon.
