After a disappointing Championship campaign last season, Nigel Adkins has worked quickly in order to tighten up his leaky Tigers defence, and the signing of Burke has gone down well with the Hull City faithful.
The 21 year old has signed a three year deal at The KCOM Stadium, with an option of a further year.
Burke has Championship experience with both Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic, and the Tigers will be hoping he can use that experience during next season.
He has represented England at a variety of youth levels, most recently turning out for the U20’s in 2016.
He was held in very high regard by the coaching staff in the West Ham academy, but his time at the London Stadium is now over and will be part of the Hull squad for the next three seasons at least.
It has been reported that The Tigers payed an undisclosed fee for the centre back, but it is thought that Nigel Adkins dished out £1.5m for the defender.
Last season Hull fans were active in their disdain for Tigers owner Assem Allam, however, there seems to be a renewed sense of optimism around the club this summer.
Burke becomes the third new signing of the window and his arrival has gone down extremely well with the fans.
After the departure of David Meyler, and the impending sale of Jarrod Bowen, the signing of Burke has done wonders to appease fan concerns.
Here are some of the reactions from Hull fans on social media:

Burke should be an excellent signing for us going off what I'm hearing from West Ham mates, hopefully we can get the De Wijs deal sorted and that's 4 solid CBs #hcafc
