Massive boost for Leeds United in striker chase – impressive target may move in cheap deal

Leeds United fans have had a tough day in the transfer market, effectively finding out they won’t be able to get Angus Gunn, Kyle Bartley and Angus Gunn in the transfer window – however, one positive seems to have emerged at the expense of Aston Villa.

Villa boss Steve Bruce has publicly done an interview in which he has effectively admitted that some of the club’s star players will have to be sold on the cheap – and has accepted that they will have to do so. The big bonus for Leeds United fans, however, is one of the players that fans think Bruce is admitted he will lose to SkySports News is Jonathan Kodjia, a player who has been linked heavily with Leeds United in the last few days.

Leeds fans will be feeling frustrated that they’ve missed out on Matej Vydra – although the striker was chasing huge wages and would have cost around £11m and if the club are to opt to sign Jonathan Kodjia from Aston Villa, they may be able to get a fairly cheap deal with clubs now being aware that Villa will have to sell one of the best forwards in the division on the cheap.

Although it’s been a difficult day for Leeds fans who have panicked they won’t be signing a striker anytime soon, it could be a blessing in disguise as signing Kodjia on the cheap would give the club the opportunity to invest the rest of their budget in other parts of their team.
