Sam Byram to Nottingham Forest currently held up

Nottingham Forest have recently been linked with West Ham United full-back Sam Bryam but it appears that there is a delay on proceeding towards the West Ham end of the deal.

According to Alan Nixon, on twitter, there is a hold up on the Sam Byram to Nottingham Forest deal due to West Ham wanting to secure a replacement player before they let him go.

This is set to be a season long loan deal to give Sam Byram some game time while he’s out if favour within the West Ham United squad. West Ham aren’t willing to sell Byram which could point towards them having future plans for the former Leeds United player.

Since being promoted from the Leeds United Under 18’s Bryam made 143 appearances in the first team. Scoring 10 goals and assisting 12 times he earned a move to the Premier League in January 2016. Sam Byram left Leeds United to join West Ham for a hefty fee of just over £4m.

Since joining West Ham he’s played 36 times, yet to score. Although he has picked up two assists. Booked just once and sent off just once in 184 appearances his discipline is remarkable and something to be proud of.

Sam Byram would be Aitor Karanka’s 13th summer signing. Forest have signed some serious talent this summer and are becoming serious promotion contenders. Along with Lewis Grabban and Joao Carvalho this would be one of the bigger of Forest’s summer signings. Keep an eye on Forest this season, they could be serious title challengers.
