West Brom forward linked with a move away to Europe

West Brom forward Nacer Chadli is looking to become West Brom’s first player in the clubs history to reach a World Cup Final when his country Belgium face France in a semi-final against France tomorrow in St. Petersburg.

That being said, it looks unlikely that the Belgian international will be sticking around at West Brom with reported interest coming from Europe in the form of Turkish club Besiktas, according to CNN Sport in Turkey.

Chadli scored the winning goal in his Belgium last-16 clash with Japan in which they overturned a two-goal deficit to come out as 3-2 winners thanks to Chadli’s stoppage-time strike.

It seems certain the midfielder is to move away from West Brom after an impressive run of form with Belgium in the World Cup and it’s likely a number of other clubs will be tracking the forward’s progress.

According to the Express and Star, the forward has a release clause worth £17m in his contract and this could be activated in the coming weeks after the conclusion of the World Cup.

The Express and Star quoted Chadli on his thoughts about Belgium’s progress in the World Cup:

“If you can beat Brazil, you do not have to fear anyone,’

“We respect everybody but if we play with fear we will not be able to beat France.

“For us, it was a big step to win against Brazil – also for our confidence and to show everybody that we could do it.

“Belgium is a small country, we have 11 million people. We are very proud of what we can achieve and what we can do as a group.”
