Derby County and Hull City chasing West Ham United defender

The Hull Daily Mail has reported that Derby County are set to battle with Hull City to try and sign young West Ham United defender Reece Burke ahead of the new season.

It’s thought that Derby County are keen on bringing the defender to the iPro and manager Frank Lampard has made an ‘improved offer’ to try and encourage the defender to join the Rams ahead of the new season.

Burke has already gained a wealth of Football League experience, spending time on loan with Bradford City – where he won the Player of the Season Award, Wigan Athletic and most recently Bolton Wanderers.

It’s thought that Hull City are keen to bring Burke to the KCOM with the talented defender looking likely to move away from the London Stadium ahead of the new season.

Burke is a talented ball-playing centre-half and has plenty of promise with the ball at his feet. The defender boasts a strong aerial presence but is equally gifted on the ball and would be an excellent signing for either Hull City or Derby County ahead of the new season.

It’s unknown as to whether the defender would prefer a move to the Tigers or the Rams ahead of the new season but it is quite likely that several other clubs could join the race to sign the defender with news that he is available to sign.

Supposedly Burke is considering a move to the iPro though to join up with Lampard, so we’ll see which way this transfer story works out.
