Norwich and Sheffield United battling to sign Liverpool starlet

Norwich City and Sheffield United are battling to sign young Liverpool winger Ben Woodburn, according to a report from the Eastern Daily Press.

The 18 year old is in desperate need of first team football  to progress his career, and the Canaries and the Blades are set to do battle in order to land his signature.

Woodburn is rated extremely highly by Jurgen Klopp at Anfield and the youngster has made 6 Premier League appearances under the German since his debut in 2016.

He made his senior debut for the Reds in the top flight when he replaced Gini Wijnaldum in a 2-0 win over Sunderland.

In doing so, Woodburn became the clubs third youngest debutant in the history of Liverpool and the clubs second youngest Premier League player behind Nottingham Forest’s Jack Robinson.

He has represented Wales at all youth levels before his call up to the senior side last year.

Woodburn made his senior debut last September as he come on as a second-half substitute for Tom Lawrence and scoring a long range strike in a 1–0 win against Austria.

He has made 7 appearances for his country since that moment.

Both Norwich and Sheffield United were interested in signing fellow Liverpool team mate Harry Wilson, but it appears that both clubs have now turned their attentions to the Welshman.

After a disappointing season last campaign, Norwich will be aiming to mount a promotion push under Daniel Farke, in the Germans second season in English football.

Sheffield United narrowly missed out on the Playoffs last campaign, and Chris Wilder will be hoping to go one step further next season.

Woodburn is a youngster with masses of potential and it appears that he will be playing his football at either Carrow Road or Bramall Lane next season.
