Sky Bet League Two club Bury have been hammered 6-0 by Rangers in a pre-season friendly at Ibrox this evening.

It look Rangers just seven minutes to open the scoring when Jamie Murphy found a hole in the Bury defence to sweep the ball home from close range.

To their credit, Bury grew into the game and held firm until their back line was breached again just after the half hour mark when Nikola Katic’s long range effort flew into the net. The Shakers were to go into the break 3-0 down after goalkeeper Matt Hudson could only parry Murphy’s effort and Scott Arfield tapped in the rebound.

It was Arfield who was again on target for The Gers in the second half when he slotted in at the back post to make it four before Alfredo Morelos thundered in a header to make it 5-0.
