Bartley, Leeds United must act fast to avoid missing out on experienced defender

Leeds United must act fast to avoid missing out on experienced defender

It has been billed as the biggest summer in Leeds United’s recent history…but so far nothing has come of it.

Only two new players have arrived at Elland Road so far this transfer window. Lewis Baker has joined on loan from Premier League giants Chelsea, and Leif Davis has signed from Sky Bet League Two side Morecambe.

The lack of signings has left Leeds United fans desperate to see some sort of transfer activity, and some could be on the way very soon.

It is clear that their number one target is a striker. They have been linked with the likes of Derby County forward Matej Vydra, and Sky Bet League One Golden Boot winner Jack Marriott so far this summer, and Whites supporters are desperate to see one of these players move to Elland Road.

However, Leeds United also need to strengthen defensively, and there is one man that the whole of Leeds wants to see return.

Kyle Bartley enjoyed a successful loan spell at the club during the 2016/17 season, and he quickly became a fan favourite.

There had been talks of him making a permanent return earlier this summer, but that seemed to quickly die down as it was believed that Swansea City wanted to keep hold of him.

However, reports in recent days have suggested that fellow Sky Bet Championship side West Bromwich Albion are preparing a £4 million bid for the former Rangers and Arsenal man.

This is something that Leeds United need to act on, and given the £20 million Marcelo Bielsa has reportedly been given to spend on new players, £4 million for Kyle Bartley would be an absolute steal.
