Leeds United set to spend shock £25 million after long wait on transfers

Leeds United have been linked with bringing in a number of players during the current transfer window and their search for a goalkeeper and striker has raged on for weeks, with fans beginning to get impatient about the club’s lack of transfer activity.

It looks as if Leeds United could be about to spend £25 million purely on forwards though, with the Hartlepool Mail suggesting the club are ready to sign Algerian forward Baghdad Bouneedjah for around £13.2 million whilst the club have also been linked with a £12 million swoop for Matej Vydra of Derby County by the Daily Mail.

It would be remarkable if Leeds United were to spend £25 million on just two forwards and it would make far greater sense if the club were only to invest £12 million in one of the two striking options linked above so that Marcelo Bielsa can invest the rest of his transfer budget to ensure the rest of his team is well-rounded.

Vydra scored 22 goals last season for Derby County and has been linked with a move to Elland Road for several weeks now. It’s though that the striker is to be sold during this transfer window to free up some transfer funds for Derby County’s new manager, Frank Lampard during this summer transfer window.

Bouneedjah is an Algerian International and has an exceptional scoring record in every division he’s played in with his overall goals to games ratio being nothing short of amazing, with the striker scoring 129 goals in 186 games.

The striker has scored four international goals for Algeria in 14 games and with reported interest from Elland Road, Leeds United really could be looking to bring a ‘proven goalscorer’ to Elland Road.
