Leeds, Peterborough set to sign Leeds defender

Peterborough set to sign Leeds defender

Tyler Denton looks set to become Leeds United’s third departure of the day, with the left-back on his way to League One side Peterborough United

As reported by Phil Hay via Twitter; Denton will link up with former boss Steve Evans at the ABAX Stadium, having enjoyed a spell at Port Vale last season, which unfortunately ended prematurely due to family reasons, in which he returned back home.

Having narrowly missed out on the playoffs last season, Posh fans will see Denton’s arrival as a positive injection of youth to the side. Having managed him before, Evans must have a clear indication of the left-backs capability’s.

For Leeds fans, this may be seen as a last chance saloon for Denton, who was expected to have the same impact as Lewis Cook, Charlie Taylor, and Sam Byram. The highlight of Denton’s Leeds career no doubt comes from his stunning winner against Luton back in 2016 in the EFL Cup.

For many Leeds fans, they saw that match-winning performance as a sign to come, another player through the ranks, but sadly Denton’s career stalled shortly after, but if Evans can recreate the promise he has shown before, then Posh fans have every right to be happy over their latest signing.

For Peterborough, this comes as a fresh piece of news, with talks of Jack Marriott’s departure growing stronger by the day, fans will be glad to see the club isn’t staying stagnant. Denton will join the likes of Louis Reed, Adam King, and Matthew Godden in donning the blue jersey.
