Leeds United and Middlesbrough face Premier League competition for defender

The Bristol Post have suggested that Leeds United face competition from Middlesbrough and Premier League Burnley, Bournemouth and Fulham to secure the signature of Bristol City full-back Joe Bryan.

The left-back has seemingly gained a number of admirers during this transfer window and it’s clear that the defender is quite likely to leave the Robins in this transfer window with Championship clubs Leeds United and Middlesbrough showing an interest in signing the full-back.

Bristol City have already lost keen men Aden Flint and Bobby Reid during this transfer window and if they were to lose left-back Bryan, the core of their team who impressed so well in the Carabao Cup this season would have been ripped out with three of their star performers leaving Ashton Gate.

Bryan is an extremely talented full-back and his pace and trickery mean that he offers a lot from the full-back position in an attacking sense, as well as a strong defensive option.

The full-back is reportedly seen at around the £10m mark and with a number of Premier League clubs reportedly chasing his signature, it could prove inherently difficult for Championship Bristol City to keep hold of him.

The full-back only has one-year left on his contract with Bristol City which has got a number Robins fans sweating ahead of the new season, in panic that they could lose one of their most valuable assets for a cheap fee.

With a number of clubs reportedly vying for the full-back’s signature, it’s unlikely Bryan will leave on the cheap but what does seem certain, is that he will leave.
