The whole country is eagerly awaiting England’s game against Colombia tonight with a place in the World Cup Quarter-Final up for grabs.
Here is a look at who out of the England team have played in the Football League before-
Jack Butland- He started his career at Birmingham City and has also had loan spells in the Championship at Barnsley, Leeds and Derby since making the move to Stoke City.
Jordan Pickford- England’s current number one spent the 2015/16 season on loan at Preston in the Championship. He has also had loan stints at Burton, Carlisle and Bradford.
Nick Pope- He played 24 games for Charlton during the 2015/16 campaign which earned him a move to Burnley that summer.
Kyle Walker- The Manchester City right-back is a key player for England and he has played in the Football League in the past for Sheffield United, Northampton (loan) and QPR (loan).
Danny Rose- He started his career at Leeds and the current Tottenham man has also spent time on loan at the likes of Watford, Peterborough and Bristol City.
John Stones- The centre-back started his career at Barnsley and broke into their team in the Championship before spells at Everton and Manchester City.
Harry Maguire- The Leicester City defender is a familiar face amongst the Football League having had spells at Sheffield United, Hull City and Wigan Athletic (loan).
Gary Cahill- The 32-year-old had loan stints at Sheffield United and Burnley in his early career from Aston Villa.
Kieran Trippier- Spent time on loan at Barnsley as a youngster from Manchester City and then helped Burnley get promoted from the Championship in 2014.
Ashley Young- Spent two years from 2004 to 2006 playing in the second tier for Watford.
Jesse Lingard- The Manchester United star learnt his trade from loan spells at Leicester, Birmingham, Brighton and Derby in the past.
Jordan Henderson- The 28-year-old played 10 games on loan at Coventry City in the Championship in the 2008/09 season from Sunderland.
Fabian Delph- The Manchester City midfielder started his career at Leeds and his impressive displays for them as a youngster earned him a move to Aston Villa.
Dele Alli- He rose through the youth ranks at MK Dons and made his name there before being snapped up by Tottenham in 2015.
Jamie Vardy- The 2016 Premier League title winner helped Leicester gain promotion to the top flight in 2015 after joining them from Fleetwood Town.
Harry Kane- England’s captain has played in the Football League in the past on loan at Leyton Orient, Leicester City and Millwall.
Danny Welbeck- He had a loan spell at Preston in 2010 and scored 2 goals for them in 8 games.
