Championship side Wigan are eyeing up a move for Arsenal left-back Marc Bola, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
Arsenal left-back Marc Bola is attracting interest from Paul Cook and Wigan ahead of the 2018/19 season.
Alan Nixon tweeted: “Wigan. Looking at young Arsenal left back Marc Bola. In training.”
This could be a shrewd piece of business from them, Wigan are said to be keen on a left-back. Bola is a solid and skilful left-back who could thrive playing at Wigan and would be the next step up in his career and could be vital for his progression.
About Marc Bola –
Primarily a left-back, Bola has been able to fill in across the back line for Arsenal and is described as “powerful and attack minded.”
He has managed to make 17 appearances for Arsenal Under 21’s, seven starts for the under 19’s and six appearances in the FA Youth Cup. He was also part of an Arsenal side who took on Bristol Rovers in a pre-season friendly two years ago.
The 19-year-old signed his first professional deal with Arsenal in April last year, having impressed as a second year academy scholar.
Marc Bola hasn’t made a first team appearance at the Emirates and was loaned out to League Two side Notts County for the second half of 2016/17 season, making 13 appearances for the Magpies and helping them to 16th place in the league.
Last season, Bola signed for League One side Bristol Rovers and managed to make 18 appearances for them and he contributed to one assist.
