Stoke City are just over five weeks away from their first Championship season it what seems a long, long time. It’s all change, Gary Rowett is in charge and players are coming and going. One player who nobody can quite predict is Bojan, a top player on his day. If Rowett can convince him, could he be the one to fire them back to the Premier League?
Bojan has spent the past two years on loan abroad but Stoke fans rate the player and Rowett has already told players who were frozen out under Mark Hughes they will all have the chance to impress him and keep their place at the club. There is no doubt about it, Bojan would be one of the best players to ever play in the Championship if he stays at Stoke but will he dance to the music of Rowett, or will Rowett dance to the music of Bojan?
There has been interest from the MLS in America and that is certainly something everybody wouldn’t be surprised with. The thing about Bojan and Stoke is that nobody really knows why things have gone pear-shaped. Mark Hughes seems to have a great relationship with players for a few years and everyone thinks he’s the one getting the best from them then things get sour, we’ve seen it a lot at Stoke over the years.
How do Stoke keep Bojan and get him back playing at his best then? I think showing him some love will be the only way. He doesn’t need to chase the money and he’s still young, is potentially pushing Stoke City back to the Premier League something that would get Bojan thinking? He will be looking at the lack of players deciding to leave, the new deal for Joe Allan and signing of Benik Afobe and thinking there are players there who he can work with
The transfer window hasn’t really kicked into action yet, July 1st will do just that with a new financial year and clubs hitting the pre-season friendlies. Bojan will have options, does he Stoke City as one of them?
