Reports of a new transfer target for Nottingham Forest emerge

Paul Taylor of the Nottingham Post has tweeted to suggest that former QPR full-back Jack Robinson has emerged as a target for Nottingham Forest.

The ex-Liverpool left-back has now been linked with a move to the City Ground and Nottingham Forest fans will be getting excited about the idea of any potential transfer that takes the full-back to the East Midlands during this current transfer window.

Robinson turned down a contract extension at QPR and has made 38 appearances for the club since signing for the club in 2014, with 28 of his appearances coming last season.

Forest are looking to cement their side so they are strong candidates for a promotion push during this upcoming season and the addition of the ex-Liverpool full-back would offer them an alternative option on the left-hand side of defence with Danny Fox currently the sides recognized left-back.

Robinson would be joining up with Forest on a free transfer if a deal was to be struck and after the big money deal of Joao Carvalho, it could be that the club look to bring in a few players on free transfers to help them to afford another big-money signing in the attacking department.

There have been rumours that Forest have been interested in Lewis Grabban and Jack Marriott during this transfer window, so it could be that bringing in Robinson on a free gives the club some more capital to invest into their strikeforce, whilst also bringing in a quality defender cheaply.

We’ll see if any more on this transfer materialises over the next week or so.
