Five players that Scunthorpe United should sign this summer

Here are five players that Scunthorpe United should sign this summer –

Jorge Grant, Nottingham Forest – Jorge Grant spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest rivals Notts County, where he made 45 league appearances and scored 15 goals whilst providing six assists for the Magpies as they finished in the League Two play-off places.

Eoin Doyle, Preston North End – Doyle is a proven goalscorer in League One, as he showed last season with Oldham Athletic where he scored 16 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions. To add to this, the Irishman scored 25 goals in 33 appearances for Chesterfield during the 2014/15 season. With him not being needed at Preston North End this may lead Scunthorpe to swoop in for a deal.

Matt Mills, free agent – Mills is 6ft 3’ central defender, who has a huge amount of footballing knowledge on his CV having played multiple times in the Premier League as well as the Sky Bet Championship. Mills has racked up over 400 senior appearances in professional football, who could bring a vast amount of experience to Scunthorpe’s defensive areas.

Mohamed Eisa, Cheltenham Town –  After an impressive campaign in League Two this season, scoring 23 goals in 46 league games and maybe Scunthorpe should swoop in for a deal. The Sudanese striker spent his early career in non-league football with Dartford, Corinthian and Greenwich Borough. At Greenwich he scored 57 goals in 100 appearances in all competitions before leaving the club in June 2017 to join Cheltenham.

Ethan Ampadu, Chelsea – Having joined Chelsea in the summer from Exeter, highly-rated starlet Ethan Ampadu has impressed Antonio Conte to such an extent that he did not allow him to go out on loan and has instead found himself on the fringes of the first team picture. The 17-year-old made his debut in the Carabao Cup third round against Nottingham Forest last season, garnering rave reviews with a calm, assured performance in the middle of the park.
