Bristol City are set to lose influential centre-back Aden Flint to Sky Bet Championship rivals Middlesbrough for a transfer fee of over £5 million as revealed by The72 earlier today.
The 28-year-old towering defender has played a key role for The Robins in recent seasons at both ends of the pitch and is a fans’ favourite at Ashton Gate.
Flint has spent the last five years with Bristol City and many fans are unhappy at watching the player leave taking into account the reaction on Twitter.
@BristolCity and @JonLansdown please explain how with our current transfers how this club is going forward ?

The ambitions of this club as tepid as they’ve ever been I see. Flint gone, Bryan and Reid will surely follow. The fact they are leaving shows the cheque book is remaining as tightly clasped as ever. I didn’t renew to watch retrogression… #BristolCity

Feels like there is no ambition at the club very sad! #BristolCity

@AFlint4 for £5m? Bargain of the century. Thought @BristolCity wouldn't sell at that price. #transfertalk #bcfc #disappointed

Downside – flint leaving
Upside – winning league one and JPT again in 2019/20 season. @BristolCity— Andy Eichler (@TheEichman) June 26, 2018
Aden Flint leaving Bristol City has broken my spirit

Flint leaves Bristol City having made 246 appearances in all competitions for the club. One of the most impressive statistics is his goalscoring record which has seen him net 39 goals for The Robins.
Last season, the defender helped Bristol City to 11th in the Sky Bet Championship table, a significant improvement compared to the previous campaign.
