Hull City have transfer offer for defender rejected by Motherwell

Scottish Premiership club Motherwell are thought to have rejected a transfer offer from Hull City for highly-rated centre-back Cedric Kipre according to the Daily Record.

The72 revealed earlier today that the 21-year-old Paris-born defender was believed to be on The Tigers’ radar.

It has now been reported that Hull City have submitted a transfer bid for the player, although that offer has been rejected after falling well below Motherwell’s valuation of Kipre.

After spending his youth in his homeland in the academy of Paris Saint-Germain, Kipre moved to England in 2014 when he joined Leicester City. The youngster’s only appearance for The Foxes came in a 6-1 defeat to Cheltenham Town in a Checkatrade Trophy fixture at Whaddon Road in January 2017.

Kipre was released by Leicester City last summer and joined current club Motherwell following a successful trial at Fir Park. The defender soon impressed manager Stephen Robinson who twice offered him extensions to his initial one-year contract.

In his first year in Lanarkshire, Kipre made 49 appearances for Well in all competitions while he scored his only goal in a 2-1 home win over Dundee in April. The defender reached both domestic cup finals with Motherwell last season, however, he was sent off in the Betfred Cup final defeat against Glasgow giants Celtic at Hampden Park.
