Rotherham are weighing up a move for League One defender

Championship side Rotherham are lining up a move for Blackpool defender Clark Robertson, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Rotherham are weighing up a move for Blackpool defender Clark Robertson, who is highly-rated at Blackpool.

Alan Nixon tweeted: “Rotherham. Taking a big interest in centre half Robertson. May be cheaper than Bolger.”

Paul Warne is looking to tighten up his backline line but is Clark Robertson the right man to do that?

It is believed that Rotherham are also looking to sign Fleetwood Town defender Cian Bolger.

About Clark Robertson –

The former Scottish Under-21 international signed from Aberdeen in 2015, where he’d progressed through the club’s academy. Robertson, who is known as a cofindent and composed defender, made 68 appearances at Aberdeen before moving below the border.

Clark Robertson has been outstanding during the two seasons he’s spent at Blackpool. The centre-half have made a strong partnership with Tom Aldred and has managed to make 97 appearances in tangerine.

In 2016, Bolger then made the move to the Fylde coast, scoring his first goal against Southport in November 2016.

Bolger was named Supporters Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year at the end of season awards night at the end of the 2016/17 season.

Last season, Bolger made 49 appearances in all competitions and scored six goals as well as picking up one assist.
