Ex-Leeds United star is set to sign for Nottingham Forest from West Ham

Aitor Karanka is set to bring ex-Leeds United star Sam Byram to Nottingham Forest on loan from West Ham, according to The Sun.

Sam Byram is set to sign for Nottingham Forest on loan for the season from Premiership side West Ham.

The right-back has only managed to make 27 appearances in the Premier League since he made the switch to the London Stadium.

Byram has been allowed to depart the club as West Ham have signed Ryan Fredericks on a free from Fulham, which has left the door wide open for the right-back.

About Sam Byram –

He is an attack-minded right-back and moved to east London in January 2016, making the move to West Ham United from Championship side Leeds United.

Byram was born in Essex and raised in Yorkshire, and it’s clear that Byram became a fans’ favourite at Elland Road for his impressive and exciting performances up and down the right flank.

The right-back signed a four-and-a-half year contract with West Ham and is now set to move to Championship side Nottingham Forest on loan.

Nottingham Forest’s transfer business –

Nottingham Forest have already had an exciting summer with the signings of Benfica’s Joao Carvalho for a club-record fee of £13.2m and completed a season-long loan deal for team-mate Diogo Goncalves.

Carvalho, 21, played eight games for Benfica in 2017-18 and has signed a five-year contract at the City ground.

The loan deal for exciting winger Goncalves, also 21, includes an option to buy at the end of his loan spell.

Carvalho’s transfer fee eclipses Nottingham Forest’s previous record transfer fee, which was for striker Britt Assombalonga, who joined from Peterborough for £5.5m in August 2014.

Nottingham Forest have also completed the signing of Gil Bastiao Dias on a season-long loan from AS Monaco.
