Derby County and Birmingham City are in competition with Celtic for Hibernian midfielder John McGinn, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

It is reported that Derby County and Birmingham City are in competition with Scottish giants Celtic for Hibernian midfielder John McGinn.

Derby County boss Frank Lampard is willing to pay £3million for the tireless midfielder and is fighting to stop him from joining Scottish giants Celtic.

Birmingham City have also entered the frame to sign John McGinn and would find the cash for the highly-rated midfielder who seems set to leave Neil Lennon’s side.

About John McGinn –

The midfielder joined Hibernian for an undisclosed fee from St Mirren in July 2015 on a four-year contract, and has made a massive impact at the Club.

In his first season for Hibernian, the midfielder put in a run of strong performances in midfield, being the stand-out performer was being an occurrence.

Also during his first season, he scored a memorable winning goal against St Johnstone in the League Cup with a strike from 25-yards out. His performance in the William Hill Scottish Cup Final also helped to guide Hibernian to glory against Rangers.

A full Scotland debut also arrived in 2016, where he played the full 90 minutes against Denmark, and John won the Man of the Match award.

His impressive performances continued in the 2016/17 season, and he also contributed a further five goals. With another impressive season under his belt, the midfielder continued to gain international recognition, and played another two times for Scotland.

Overall last season, John McGinn made 43 appearances in all competitions and scored six goals whilst making eight assists.
