Aston Villa closing in on signing ex Wolves loanee – quality piece of business

Rumours are speculating that Brazilian striker Leo Bonatini from Saudi Professional League side Al-Hilal, could be on his way to Villa Park.

It would be no surprise that Aston Villa are interested in the striker as the Brazilian sensation Leo Bonatini was offered to Villa last summer in the transfer window, but the club couldn’t afford him.

Villa’s lack of room for Financial Fair Play manoeuvre meant they couldn’t get a deal for Bonatini last summer.

But it seems as if Aston Villa have finally sealed a deal for the ex Wolves loanee and it could be a massive coup for the club.

Bonatini won the Championship title last season with Wolves, where he made 43 league appearances and scored 12 goals whilst making six assists.

Translation – “Leo Bonatini’s attacker to the Aston Villa English league first class.”

Aston Villa have been short of options in attack last season with top scorer Jonathan Kodjia having been ruled out for most on the season with an ankle problem.

About Leo Bonatini –

The 23-year-old netted 15 goals the Al Hilal last time out, after joining from Portuguese side Estoril.

The former Brazilian Under-17 international began at Cruzeiro in Brazil and spent time on loan at Juventus, before the move to Estoril.

Last season, Bonatini was sent on a season-long loan to Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers. He made his debut, and scored his first goal, in a 1–0 win against Middlesbrough at Molineux Stadium.

He scored his 10th goal of the season in a 2–0 win against Fulham, scoring in six consecutive games, becoming the first player of the 2017–18 EFL Championship season to reach double figures.

On 10 November 2017, after scoring 5 goals in 4 games during the October fixtures, he was awarded with the EFL Championship Player of the Month.

Finally, Bonatini and Wolves sealed the league title after a 4-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers at the Macron Stadium.
