Leeds United linked with surprise move for Huddersfield Town star

Leeds United have been linked with a surprise move for Huddersfield Town’s winger Rajiv Van La Parra for a fee of around £3.6m according to the Huddersfield Daily Examiner in the paper.

The Dutch winger moved to Huddersfield Town from Wolves in 2016 and has made 73 appearances for the West-Yorkshire side but now, he’s been linked with a surprise move to their rivals Leeds United, much to the shock of a number of fans.

Van La Parra is a tricky winger who has pace to burn and would bring dynamism and pace to the flanks at Leeds United and would suit Marcelo Bielsa’s masterplan of a quick, attacking side at Elland Road.

The Dutch winger may find himself surplus to requirements during his second season in the Premier League with Huddersfield Town with the club expected to bring in reinforcements to ensure they aren’t embroiled in a relegation battle at the end of this forthcoming season. This could be what paves the midfielder a move to Elland Road and for a fee of £3.6 million, Leeds United have the opportunity to get a top-quality winger for a cut-price bargain.

Leeds fans will be hoping the club announce some transfer signings with new Head Coach Marcelo Bielsa expected to take charge of training in the next week, as he arrives in West Yorkshire this weekend. The Argentinian has already scheduled a press conference for Monday, and it could well be that shortly after that press conference he may be able to announce one, if not two new signings for the Whites.
