Norwich dealt huge transfer blow as striker opts for Germany

Norwich City are set to miss out on one of their top transfer targets as Marvin Ducksch looks set to complete a move to Fortuna Dusseldorf, according to Bild.

The Yellows found goals hard to come by last season and were heavily reliant on star man James Maddison to find the back of the net.

However, Maddison departed for Leicester yesterday, and they now look set to lose out on Marvin Ducksch.

The 24 year old came through the ranks at Borussia Dortmund and made 6 first team appearances for the German giants.

He spent last season on loan at Holstein Kiel where he notched 18 goals in 33 appearances during his time in Germany’s second tier.

His good form last season has seen his stock rise and he looks set to join Dusseldorf within the next week.

He has been capped at a number of different youth levels for the German National team, but has yet to break through in to the senior side.

There has been a German revolution at Carrow Road since the arrival of manager Daniel Farke, but the Canaries manager will have to look elsewhere to find a goalscorer.

Nelson Oliveira only bagged 8 goals for the club last season, but he looks set to depart this summer after falling out of favour as the season came to a close.

Norwich now have £25m to play with in the transfer window after the sale of James Maddison.

It’s a big budget in the Championship, and they will have to use that money to find the right man to fire them up the Championship next season.
