Hull City youngster set to move abroad – Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday miss out

Hull City youngster Max Clark is set for a move abroad, meaning Nottingham Forest miss out, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Max Clark is out-of-contract at Hull City and is yet to make an official decision on his long-term future almost a month after he was offered a contract extension to remain with his boyhood club, with Nottingham Forest ready to pounce of the youngster.

But, it seems like Clark is set for a move abroad, according to Nixon. It is unknown who the team is who have won the race to sign Clark.

Vitesse Arnhem, managed by former Hull City boss Leonid Slutsky, have reportedly been interested in signing Max Clark. The Dutch club are willing to exceed Hull City’s offer to Clark and meet the compensation fee Hull would be able to command.

It is understood Hull City would stand to receive in the region of £400,000 if Clark moved to Vitesse or any other club.

Nottingham Forest have held a lasting interest, while Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday have also emerged as competitors for Max Clark’s signature but it seems like they’ve missed out.

Max Clark joined Hull City’s Academy at U13 level and progressed all the way through to making his first team debut on the opening day of the 2017/18 season.

The versatile defender and midfielder represented England at U16 and U17 level as he impressed for the Tigers’ youth teams and then the Club’s Development Squad.

His first taste of senior football came during a loan spell with Cambridge United during the second half of the 2015/16 season, and he went on to spend the whole of the 2016/17 campaign on loan with the U’s.

Max Clark made his senior debut against Aston Villa in 2017.

Last week, Hull boss Nigel Adkins said this about Clark: “I know his agent is desperate to take him somewhere else. I know there’s interest from a club abroad. We’ve had no offers from anybody in England.”
