After a hugely disappointing first season back in the Championship for the Tigers, Nigel Adkins will be hoping to turn the clubs fortunes around next campaign. Here are three players that Adkins should get rid of as he continues his rebuild this summer:
Will Keane – Keane has been plagued with injuries since his move to the KCOM Stadium. The former Manchester United forward penned a three year deal with the club under ex boss Mike Phelan. However, things haven’t worked out for Keane since his move to the club, finding the back of the net on just one occasion in two years. His injuries meant that he was restricted to just 9 appearances for Hull last season, where he netted his first goal for the club. The 25 year old has failed to reignite his career during his time at the Tigers and Hull should look to get him off the wage bill this summer.
Evandro – Evandro joined the club during the January transfer window of last season, but like Keane his playing time has been limited due to recurring injury problems. He only made ten appearances in the Championship last season, where he scored just 1 goal. The Brazilian is likely to be on big wages, and that is money that could be reinvested i other parts of the squad this transfer window.
James Weir – Despite being capped at youth level for England, it hasn’t worked out at Hull for Weir. The former Manchester United midfielder joined the club in 2016 but has only made 3 league appearances for the club. He has also spent time on loan at Wigan Athletic but he failed to impress at the DW Stadium. He’s had a tough time at Hull and the Tigers should look to shift him on.
