Ipswich Town interested in Italian Serie A winger

Ipswich Town are interested in signing Genoa winger Manuel Milinkovic, as per a report by the East Anglian Daily Times.

The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at Hearts and impressed for them in the Scottish Premier League. They are keen to sign him on a permanent basis but will now have to face competition from Championship side Ipswich Town this summer to land his signature.

The Tractor Boys are yet to make a signing but are hoping to get some deals over the line in the coming weeks. Their new manager, Paul Hurst, is looking to make some signings to put his own stamp on his newly inherited squad. He left Shrewsbury Town to join Ipswich and is hoping to have the East Anglian side competing at the top end of the division.

Milinkovic would give Ipswich more attacking options and would be a decent signing. He joined Genoa in 2016 having previously been at Red Star Belgrade, Rad, BASK Beograd, Ternana Calcio and Salernitana. He has never played a game for Genoa and has spent the last few seasons out on loan.

His first loan spells were at Virtus Lanciano and then Messina in 2016. He then joined Hearts last summer and has spent the whole season playing in Scotland.

A move away from Genoa on a permanent basis is looking likely for Milinkovic but it is yet to be known whether it will be to Ipswich Town or Hearts again.
